Big stop just to renew your license to companion. Can I use companion as a verb?

Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I'm so sorry, Anne.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Before moving to Minnesota, my hopes and dreams of ownership featured one day being able to have a "park model" at a retirement RV park.

If I was lucky.

move out and draw fire

Anne, my condolences to you and yours.

Given that the national average income for a family of 4 is $28,000, how do people afford houses?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Per census.gov, the national median in '03 was $65,093.

Because books.

Oh, Anne, I'm so sorry.

Per census.gov, the national median in '03 was $65,093.

Still seems low when you think about housing costs.

Susan, you seem to be handling everything so well. Still, I know this is a hard time. And Annabel is very naughty for getting up at 3 a.m. Silly baby. Wishing you a nap, and some peace.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Thanks for the condolences, everyone. It's been ages since I've seen this grandmother in person, so the reality hasn't hit me, and may not for a while yet. The hard part is not being able to do anything for my mom, who is dealing with all this while being forced into the role of Token Sane Person in the family.

What's the percentage of families who actually own? Also, I have to wonder what housing prices are like in the middle of, say, Nebraska or Idaho.

I bought the house here in St. Louis even though I'm woefully underemployed at the moment (I have temp work, so I can't really say that I'm unemployed). I've gotten a few raised eyebrows at the decision, but I think it was a wise one--for me. I was able to put a fair amount down, thanks to the sale of my house in Baltimore, so my mortgage is about what rent would be on a much smaller place. I'm also thinking that even though it's possible that the housing bubble might pop, that the money I put into my down payment is safer as equity than it would be in any other investment plan.
