Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You should be furious, what's with that?!

Leaving? Our apartment? No. Hence the problem.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

No, I still understand why you'd feel a bit thrown by it all. Do you think he's telling the truth (or whole truth) about the electrical issue?

Very difficult to call, and I've been asking myself that too. It could be a combination of factors - maybe the building isn't close enough to being ready after all, maybe they've had trouble with recruiting, what with the Sharm bombing (although afaik, based on advertising, they're only still looking for one teacher), maybe they've not got enough prospective pupils. All these possibilities. But I don't think they'd lie outright about the power cable thing. I think that's liable to be part of it, at least.

But it sounds like your employer is really working hard to make sure the employees are covered, one way or another. So I'm glad you've landed a good boss, especially after the last one

Yeah, it does seem more positive, doesn't it? Fingers crossed.

Our landlord is currently walking through the apartment with someone. We got absolutely no warning about this. I am FURIOUS.

Damn, girl. That isn't even legal, is it? Is this a proposed flatmate? Or someone to take over your lease?

I'm getting the pig!

Were you dressed? I have days where I don't get out of my jammies until noon. If someone from my HOA showed up unannounced, I'd be pissed too.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

eek, vw! I don't have any advice how to fight back; I could have used it on my landlord once we gave our notice to quit the premises. I knew that her coming without notification/permission was wrong, but I made myself suck it up because of the knowledge that buying a house meant that such invasions were soon to be a thing of the past.

But give him hell! perhaps a strongly worded letter, referencing the appropriate parts of the lease, with a cc to a name that ends with ", Esq."?

I'm kind of dressed...without a bra. But EMILY'S STILL ASLEEP, AND THEY WENT IN HER ROOM EVEN AFTER I SAID SHE WAS STILL ASLEEP!

Here is the law:

The tenant has the right to enjoy the premises free from disturbance and interference by the landlord or other residents, also known as quiet enjoyment. The landlord cannot enter the apartment frequently, at odd times, or without giving reasonable notice except in an emergency situation.

The landlord does have the right to inspect the premises and show the property to a prospective buyer or tenant, but the tenant must be provided with reasonable notice (usually 24-48 hours) and the inspection must be conducted at a reasonable time. Also, the landlord has the right to enter the apartment to do normal maintenance and repairs as long as reasonable notice is given.

However, if the repairs are of an emergency nature, the landlord may be able to enter without notice.

They're all, "We'll be quiet." I'm all, "I think I need to warn her," as they walk in her room and take a picture.
