Overwhelming? How much more than whelming would that be exactly?

Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Sorry if it seemed odd.

We just had a chain of rotten doctor stories (all of which are legitimately scary as hell) and I had LITERALLY just gotten off the phone with a good one...

I'm glad the munchkin is going to be ok and that he has such a bulldog for a Mommy.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

vinyl border off the bathroom wall. and about a third of the underlayer. yay me.

I am also proud of myself. I almost paniced at the bank balance. then I remembered that there were a number of unexpected expensese these last two weeks. that is pretty much the difference. So it wasn't money mismanagement, just life. I am not excited, but I am hopeful that we aren't that far from getting a really good handle on this whole money thing.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

ION I am eating an overripe fuji apple right now. And it's not particularly great. Or even good. Bleah.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Wow, Cindy. So relieved Chris is OK.

Thanks for posting the SB worship, juliana. I especially loved this:

He's like what would happen if God were like, "It's Woman's birthday today, what shall we give her?"

Must bookmark that one...

Susan, would it be at all helpful for someone to point out that this means you've sent out something like 12 resumes?

Yeah, but in my last job search I was averaging an interview for every 4-5 jobs I applied for, and in a weaker economy. Hence my fears that I've lost my cover letter mojo, or that everyone is looking at that freelancing/time off for baby and saying, "No way!" Otherwise I can't make sense of the disconnect between past performance and current results. Unless it's small sample size. Which it could be. But I'm still a little worried, and wondering if I need to do something to fix this. If I don't get an interview at UW by the end of September, I'm wondering if it might be useful to call their HR office and say, "Look, can someone tell me what's missing here? Why isn't someone with my background and 4+ years of progressively responsible experience at your fair institution at least getting nibbles?" Only politely and deferentially.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

It's a very small sample. But I hope you get more feedback, interviews and the perfect offer soon.

Only politely and deferentially.
This should be under Special Skills, IJS.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

{{{Cindy}}} I'm so glad Christopher is OK. Now I feel bad popping in with my unholy love of fried zucchini flowers.

Healing~ma to all who need it. We're an achy bunch lately.

Birthday happies to those that celebrated this weekend and today!

What is even happening?

Maria, my old roommate's grandmother used to eat roses, sometimes ones she'd pick walking down the street. I don't even think she cooked them, but I'm not sure. I'm intrigued by the zucchini flowers, and frankly, we've talked enough about my kids' latest attempt to kill me or have me institutionalized. Seriously, I'm just so glad he's okay, I'm a little weepy.

Our wings are not tired.

{{Cindy}} How awful to have to go through that crap. Also, thanks for the opening disclosure of all ended up well. So scary.

Happy Birthday Katie Bee!

I skipped so I got nothin' else.

Zucchini flowers are more vegetal than floral to me. Also? Nummy. Stuff them with cheese and mmmm.

Too many people in the office. I don't likes the peoples. They makes my head burn and ache. I'm such a grouch.

I am coding my time for the last two days that I need to account for and god do I need to do this on a daily basis so it isn't such a puzzle... Sheesh.
