Saffron: You won't tell anyone about me breaking down? Mal: I won't. Saffron: Then I won't tell anyone how easily I got your gun out of your holster. Mal: I'll take that as a kindness.

Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Administrative stuff, but with a shiny office right in the middle of downtown Portland and a whole hour for lunch and a parking pass.

Ooh, that sounds like a pretty good set of bennies right there. Have you got the full health/vacation/etc. as well. And congrats - I think getting out of the soul-sucking job is worth the pay cut.

Nora, what everyone else said. I think it mostly sucks to buy right now if you're doing so to turn a profit, or if you're living beyond your means, not if it's for an on-going living situation. Also, looking forward to Sunday!

Considering I'm leaving, people are acting very strange...like I'm not. I asked my boss if she wanted me to go over something with her today, and she acted like, "Why?"

So weird...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

When do you leave, vw?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm about to attempt to register for classes. My tummy is a little upset just thinking about it.

Yes, it is. How hot was it there? I hope you had gelato every chance you got.

I am now bejobbed!

Yay, Lilty!!! Go you and your escape for Retail Hell!

I'm taking a huge pay cut, but I try to keep telling myself that if my job makes me physically ill, it's worth it.

This sounds worth it.

I only wish I was quitting in time to meet JZ and hang with the Somervillains! pout.

I think you should call out sick that day. What are they going to do, fire you?

Plus, we just moved in so we still get a pass for messiness. Whee!

You totally get a pass, Nora. I know I don't really care about the mess, just about seeing the Somervillians and meeting JZ. Is there anything you want me to bring? [unlike vw, I don't bake]

Next Friday.

Maybe they figure there's time. Does everyone know for sure? Last time I quit, my boss forbade me to tell anyone.

Or .. they might be embarassed.

I have no idea. I figured they would tell everyone in staff meeting yesterday, but maybe they didn't.

Or .. they might be embarassed.

This could be.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Considering how badly my e-mail filters spam, you'd think I'd have gotten it and the three penis enlargement e-mails.
Well it was your birthday...

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

sj, if you wish, and only if you wish, you could bring some sort of side salad... pasta, potato, or old fashioned veggie. (or whatever) Storebought would be fine!

If you don't feel like it or can't get to it, no problem!

ION, I just ate SO MUCH delicious free food from the caterer's tasting.

- grilled flank steak, melt in your mouth
- grilled salmon
- stuffed grape leaves, spinach pie, hummus
- half a fresh mozz & prociutto panini
- greek salad
- roasted veggies
- pesto pasta salad
- fresh quiche
- brie/baguette
- a bit of dessert (as I was very full from the healthy stuff)
- fresh brewed coffee
- currently nibbling on some delicious fresh fruit.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Oh great. Now I'm hungry. Lunch isn't for an hour, almost.
