What are character shoes?

Spike's Bitches 25 to Life
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Andi and I saw a pair of slippers on Sunday that were the face of Homer Simpson. You put your feet in his mouth. I don't think that's the same thing, tho...
Steph, one thing which has helped me (and vw, I beleive) is cognitive behavioural therapy.
I've been working with this technique as well.
vw, I had a dream about Toto! He fell asleep in my arms, but I had to get up and go somewhere, and I carried him with me... then he woke up, and we had a conversation, about him going back to the house to get his leash while I waited for him. I woke up feeling so horrible for letting him trot off home without me, even though he reassured me it would be fine!
{{Lilty and family}} How completely horrible.
Tep, I hope you are feeling better today. I will send you an email soon.
Lilty, I think the character shoes will work as long as they're in good condition and look ok with the dress.

Awwwww...
Speaking of Toto, we had some really horrible storms last night. There was a particularly loud clap of thunder, and right after it I heard the pitter patter of little paws. I sat up, and he was trying to jump up on the bed to be with mama. So, I picked him up, and he was shaking. He cuddled under the covers with me, and after a little while he stopped shaking. Poor guy was really scared, though.
Lilty, I think the shoes will be just fine.
Sounds more like a blown cylinder head gasket. Muuch cheaper.
Get a second opinion. Get a third.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't really have the time to shop around, unfortunately. I've lost a day off work for car stuff as it is, and my boss, while quite reasonable, has an office to run, and I have to save my remaining time off to deal with my mom's health emergencies (she's doing the chemo thing for stage III ovarian cancer). I do like the Car Talk mechanic finder, but they didn't show anyone in my area.
Anyway, I have the car back now. The cylinder head and associated gasket(s) have been replaced, as have some other things. And the whole thing came in ~$300 under estimate. It's still a big chunk of change. I sent a letter to the Saturn management--apparently some folks who have had similar problems got some of the costs reimbursed, even though they were out of warrenty. We'll see if anything happens.
Oh, Calli, that's rough. I'm sorry. But, I'm glad it was at least a bit cheaper than the estimate. May it not have any other problems for you.
After a series of Indiana Jones-like movements through the yard sale stuff in my brother's room, I found my never wrinkle, good for anything dress for the interview. The only shoes I can locate that would work are my old character shoes (no taps). Can I pull it off?
Yup. Totally.
Thanks, vw. Sorry Toto got scared by the storm.
{{Lilty}} GO with the character shoes. Absolutely.

{{Toto}} Walter has been cowering and shaking all morning. Poor dog wants to be with us so he comes downstairs instead of staying under the bed where he feels safest. I assume he dashed back under the bed as soon as DH left, though.
I hope yo get reimbursed and the car keeps going with no more troubles, Calli. I think I might have done a simillar fix on my Pontiac that held for 5 or so years. It's a vague anecdote, but somewhat reassuring, I hope.

Absolutely. Thanks!
I have a new bottle of Canadian maple syrup (gift from a coworker), a dvd of The Young Visitors on order, and a possible Wisconsin business trip this fall. Life's looking up.
