Wow, really? He needs to call me.

Spike's Bitches 25 to Life
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Actually, I've taken care of a bunch of stuff. Now I'm gonna take a break for a little bit and then do dishes. I got season 4 Buffy from my brother this weekend, so maybe I'll watch a bit.
All done.Good! Now ...
Actually, I've taken care of a bunch of stuff. Now I'm gonna take a break for a little bit and then do dishes. I got season 4 Buffy from my brother this weekend, so maybe I'll watch a bit.Oh, you got ahead of me. But taking care of some things and then giving yourself a treat was exactly the direction I was going to go in. Watch an episode and then do dishes. Then take another break and do a five-minute pickup and take another break.
Someone nuked their lunch. This is not going to help me in my quest to stay at work.
In theory I'll get my car back tonight. I have a semi-irrational fear that getting the cracked cylinder head fixed ($1800-$2000) is just the start of a long slide toward, as erikaj so eloquently put it, buying a new car from the inside out.
I just started to pull my butt from the morass (so to speak) of car related debt. Now I'm sort of quietly freaking out that it's all gonna start again. Car-repair~ma, please? Or non-freakout~ma? Heartening stories of cars that had their cylinder heads repaired/replaced and went on to serve their owners glitch-free for another year or three? Pretty please?
ETA: Non-migraine~ma to Cass.
Calli, do they know why the cylinder head cracked? If it was due to overheating then you should be sure to fix the cause of that overheating.
The thing is, the car hasn't overheated, at least not in the 3 years I've owned it. I'm really cautious about that, because my last car had all kindsa coolant issues. The engine temperature gauge hasn't cracked the half-way point. Of course, the gauge could be busted, but it does move between 0 and 1/4 (3/8ths at most) quite sensibly.
ETA: It just started going through a bit of oil a couple of weeks ago. When I checked the oil last Thursday I also glanced in the coolant reservoir and saw that it was tan colored and opaque. So I took it to my usual service station and said, essentially, wtf? They sent me to the dealer. Oy.
sending out the car-ma~~~
I worked about 45 minutes in the garden. from now 'til labor day week end I need to spend much time out there. I worked for 45 minutes. Should I do more of that - or something else? The snesible side says something else, because I need to make sure that I can keep going in the garden. ( wedding of friends in the garden that weekend. ) no kicking up the asthma. no getting too sore to move. But some how - hanging up all the clothes in the bedroom seems like no fun.
Calli, I hope the car issues are all sorted out now. I'd try to do advice but really, not my day for it.
I am heading home. I tried. But there is just jack I can get done today. I emailed some stuff home so I can plink on them later if I am so motivated.
I think sleep is really my best option.
Thanks, beth and Cass.
Can you see the garden from the bedroom, beth? I like doing things in a room where I can see what I've done with my plants (in my case, the bedroom's the only place). Maybe you could hang up some clothes, smile a little at the weed-free (or dead-headed, or what have you) sections you've created, hang up some more clothes, etc.
I hate being the post and run, come around only when I need help person, but I'm having difficulty, so here I am.
Background: Client is entering a business plan contest to win money for a new software. Wants to use wiki for documentation so that clients can help build the documentation for the software. He's had someone else read the business plan. That someone said wiki is a useless toy and to delete all references to it. I went back and included in the document names of companies that publicly stated that they really love the wiki format (he also says it's not a format).
His response: "the approach is not one that is necessarily a respected one - at least not by scholars or professionals."
Am I crazy? Is wiki really just a playtoy for bored internet geeks?
