Very belated YAY for team P-C with the parent-conversation. Also a Yay for Jilli with the (scarysounding) interview.
(((((Susan))))) I have no words.
I do not have a credit card. I'm fairly sure I have a terrible credit rating, and would not be able to get one. Having this confirmed scares me too much to actually try - but that's okay, because I don't want a credit card, because I don't think I can be trusted with one - I am very irresponsible with money. Very. It's scary.
'Course, this means that I don't think about making Big Grownup purchases like cars and flats and stuff, and I'm not seeing that changing anytime soon.
Meanwhile I've been home (and awake) for maybe 24 hours, and in that time I've spent £200. And I haven't even left the house! However, I should have winging their way to me Seasons 1-7 of
Stargate,
Season 4 of
Alias
and Seasons 1 - 5 of
Babylon 5.
And I think that's not bad, for £200 (including postage and packaging).
From Amazon,
Stargate
would have set me back £140 plus postage,
Babylon 5
would have set me back £150 plus postage
and
Alias
Season 4 isn't actually available yet. (And, okay, I may find it's very much not
Alias
Season 4, but I'm quite ready to take a chance.) So - yes, lots of money. But LOTS of DVDs.
(heading out the virtual door) Aims, can't help you this time...but is it at all comforting that I'll be able to say yes soon?
No woman wants to wind up with a statistician. (Sorry. Only 0.36% of all women want to wind up with a statistician.)
Hahah! I still like the "Standard Deviation Not Enough" part. :)
I don't feel so bad about my crack addiction - at least it's not NASCAR fanfic
Hee! And, ew!
Aiiiiieeeee. flail NaNa Kei Love these. Want these. Must have these. So must JZ and Jilli. Must must must.
OOooh. Those ARE fun!!!
I was supposed to go see "Murderball" with one of my coworkers today, but I stayed at work a little too late, and then realized I needed gas, so I would've gotten there a few minutes after it started. Dang. Ah well, will have to see it matinee over the weekend.
When Leif saw those, he said, "Those are matches. They are for starting fires!"
Dude. He's starting early.
as he needs to deposit ten grand before his bank card expires at the end of the month
Damn. That's a lot of dough!
If you are one of the 36% of all cardholders who pay off your entire balance on time each month to avoid finance charges, you may soon be penalized.
That is so fucking wrong. Of course, now that most bank cards can function as credit cards, I suppose I could move to using that, but...I like to see it all added up at the end of the month.
And like others, I am all about the student loan debt instead.
And that interviewers like to ask logic puzzle questions? shudders
Like, "if Bob has four neighbors, and Jan lives in a white house..." kind of things? I like those! I'm sad they're not on teh GRE anymore (I need to retake it if I want to go to grad school)
....scarily, the ebay seller from whom I've purchased these DVDs? Is now suddenly no longer registered with ebay.
This is exciting. And possibly a costly learning curve.
Oh, boy, Fay. I hope it's not a learning experience. I hope it's a DVD viewing experience. Bugger.
I'm glad today is almost over. I only stayed an extra hour at work today, yet I'm exhausted. I'm draggin' so much, I should be able to breathe fire.

No you need an opposable thumb to do it right...
Every time I call my three cards to lower our credit limit to what I consider reasonable, a few months later, they jack it back up again. I need to cancel a few accounts.
Cash, be careful cancelling accounts if you have debt. It will lower your debt to credit ratio and lower your score. Also, if those accounts are some of your older ones, closing them effectively shortens your credit history and you guessed it...lowers your score.
::just NOW pulled myself out of the credit mess I put myself in in college::
I ended up keeping accounts open that I would have otherwise closed. My research surprised me, but I can't deny the results. The important thing is to be judicious in applying for new credit. Too much too fast will tank a good score PDQ.
