Heh. Emmett just got asked to help out the 9 y.o. Tournament Team this weekend. (He's on the 8 y.o. team.) Which means that even on the all-star team, they think he can play at the next level up - with older all-stars.
Spike's Bitches 25 to Life
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
The idea behind the closed library is the patron would find a book in the card catalog adn then request it from the librarian, who would then locate it and give it to the patron (to check out or whatever).
But they may not have gone through with that plan.
I simply can't get my head around bookless libraries. It sounds like some freakish world I never want to visit. Browsing stacks is like treasure hunting for me. Several times, while looking for a specific book, I've found one or two in the same subject in the vicinity and they proved to be better than what I was looking for.
It's not the destination, it's the trip that makes it worthwhile.
I use Secret AP when I remember to apply it, which isn't often lately.
We spent the afternoon frolicking in the backyard in a blow-up paddling pool and eating popsicles.
Thanks, Teppy! If I'm not better by 2:00 or so, I'll break out the serious drugs.
Emmett's a superstar!
Holy crap, Aims! How awful for so many of your coworkers.
Glad you guys are home okay.
I have to return library books that are once again over due. I'm not very nice to the library at times.
They've been doing some kind of renovations which cut the already scant parking almost in half. There's street parking behind the library, but the only entrance in the back is on the second floor. Or you have to walk around the block to the front door.

One of the funniest revelations ever was that Buffistas (as a group) tend to be horrible library patrons and outright book thieves. My precious! They just can't help themselves. I was shocked to hear all the many (many) mea culpas of Buffistas who had lost their library privileges because they couldn't bear to take the books back.
So you're saying the Buffistas are the reason the libraries can't have nice books? No wonder they're going bookless.

I am a freak who returns library books on time or renews when necessary. I am a bad bibliophile.
Sign that it's Too Damn Hot no. 101: I have a book on hold at my library, but I don't want to be outside long enough to retrieve it. Luckily they'll hold it until the weekend, when the weather should be a bit cooler. But still. Ugh.
