Don't worry, we're sure to spot Faith first. She's like this cleavagy slut-bomb walking around 'Ooh, check me out, I'm wicked-cool, I'm five-by-five.'

Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh Aimee, hugs to you. And aside from all the tsuris on your return, how was the time away?

P-C, it sounds like today was a good beginning on the adult relationship with your 'rents. I agree that letting them introduce you to girls isn't altogether a bad thing, as long as you're honest with said girls about your intentions, never mind what your parents may have said.

Yay, Deena, on your media package gig--now you need an "I'm with the band" thing on a lanyard around your neck. Also?

Trumpet, trombone, bass. I could ask my mom about jazz pianists, but I'd prefer not to cross that particular line

Classical guitarist. IJS.

Askye, I think some drivers are so inattentive they nose up on the bumper in front of them without even noticing. It seems to be a pattern with them--and then they sort of wake up and go, "Oh! Too close, better back off," until they do it again. I just change lanes or speed up and put other vehicles between me and them, or let them pass. I know it's scary when you can't do any of those things, though. Good on keeping your cool though. Drivers like that make me want to get out and whap them on the wrists. "Pay attention!"

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Susan, have you tried different scents of the Lady Speed Stick.

Heh. My problems began when they seemingly discontinued Light Musk, driving me to other scents.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Wow, Aimee, that's scary. Apparently you are the thing which holds the world together.

P-Cow! You did so good in that talk with your Mom. Well done. I wonder if the girl from Trinidad likes The Shins and Garden State.

Libkitty - most excellent haircut. It really looks great on you.

Cindy, why are we talking about your armpit hair?

What is even happening?

I hear ya. I kept trying them, 'til I finally hit on the Powder Fresh. The others didn't do it for me. The Light Musk never did.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Holy crap, Aims. {{Aims}}

I wonder if the girl from Trinidad likes The Shins and Garden State.

I really haven't gotten into the Shins. I kind of like "Kissing the Lipless," but I haven't heard enough to hear why they're the GREATEST BAND EVER OMG.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

how was the time away?

The time away was wonderful. Em learned to drink from a cup, give kisses (which she does open mouth and it's funny, especially when she does the third thing she learned) and stick her tongue out.

Upstream someone (Deena, I think) told a story about a friend whose doctor insisted she shave with the grain, not against. It struck me I had no idea which way was with the grain, so I joked about it. Then t said something. Then Susan started talking about her stinky pits. It's a whole big thing.

Here's the Jim Caple article on those replica old school famous player bats I got to touch at the M's event I attended the other week.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yay Em kisses! I'm glad the trip was great and hope the chaos that tried to muscle in while you were gone settles down and behave itself. Okay, LA missed you, enough's enough.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Sometimes "tough love" works from child to parent as well as from parent to child.

I love this, Raq, and although the advice is for P-C, I'll try to keep it in mind when talking with my mom.

What is the message of this new medium? What does it mean when the University of Texas at Austin removes nearly all of the books from its undergraduate library to make room for coffee bars, computer terminals, and lounge chairs?

So, what do the Bitches think of book-free libraries?

I read a response to this from a librarian at UTAustin. She pointed out that they didn't get rid of any books, or at least not many, just shuffled them to one of the many other libraries that they have on campus. And there are still books at the undergraduate library, just not very many. What they had been noticing is that library usage had changed. It had come to the point where undergraduates were using the subject area library for their research, and that the books at the undergraduate library were not being used there. Indeed, the reason for the shift was more related to what Sparky said:

To give up the uniqueness of our collections and all end up with the same expensive databases makes me cry a little inside.

They found that they were spending a lot of money on duplicate copies of basic material for different libraries on the same campus. This way, they can focus on having more different books, rather than more copies of fewer titles. To me, this seems like a wise choice and a good thing. It is frustrating watching the news and various commentators picking the easy and sensational angle on it, though.

"You don't have to understand, I've got it taken care of," which is so my favorite thing I've said today.

I so love this, P-C. I've got to try to remember this for me.

Plus, I new you guys would be great for my ego. Thanks for all the hair compliments! I love it, and I'm glad so many other people do to.
