And you're sure this isn't just some fanboy thing? 'Cause I've fought more than a couple pimply, overweight vamps that called themselves Lestat.

Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

(Psst, vw--on your birthday, *other people* are supposed to make [or at least purchase from a reputable source) the cake and do all the hard work and stuff.)

But it's Toto's birthday :)

Gosh, those are pretty.

The Wedding That Destroyed the Universe will take place on October 1, 2005.

It will be wonderful and lovely. Trust me.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Wow, that's gonna be some cake.

3D was the cake at the wedding I went to May 1.

What is even happening?

Maria, that's going to be some gorgeous cake. How is your m-i-l doing?

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

As you can probably guess from the above, their wedding, should it happen, won't be quite so elaborate.

I tried to keep it on the smallish side, and simple. Outside forces conspired to work against me. They used the theme from The Godfather as their music.

Always Anti-fascist!

Yeah...and maybe my future husband's sitting in the squad right now, thinking the same thing, AIFG, but it's not exactly dinner-table chat, huh? There is a very conventional part of my personality...I thought I killed it on the internets, but not quite. I suspect that is her concern, not mine.

How is your m-i-l doing?

Much, much better. We're just waiting for the pathology results now, with fingers crossed. Thanks again to all of you for the support.

The first thing she thought about while this was going on? "I can't be ill and off my feet now! I've got a wedding cake to make!" When I heard that, I assured her that her healthy presence at the wedding was much more important than sugar, flour, and fruit made to look pretty. (Though I'll never turn down the cake.)

Edit: And thank you, Jilli. I often go back and read your and Plei's comments in my LJ to keep me calm. Nice people on the other side of the continent, there are.

Ick.

My friend J and her daughters are coming tonight. She has finally admitted that she's an alcoholic and has joined AA, etc. She's been doing great, sometimes going to meetings twice a day. I'm really proud of her.

After I bought all of the alcohol for the party last night, I decided I should probably warn her that there would be alcohol so she could do whatever she needed to do to prepare herself.

She finally just called me back (I had left her two messages). After explaining and saying that I hoped it wouldn't be a problem, she said she figured that was why I was calling, and that's why it took her so long to call me back. She promised she wouldn't drink, and I said I'd hold her to that. But, it was a hard conversation to have, and I feel badly that I'm putting her in this position so soon in her recovery.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

That's going to be quite some cake, Maria. I've made a couple of much less ambitious wedding cakes, and that stuff is difficult. Also, if you're me, you end up eating way to much icing and getting a terrible sugar rush.
