This has been my experience of the many greyhound rescues in the 'hood. Most are v.v. laid back...like "we can't GET him off the couch", except for the days they go out to the local track for reunion runs. They are also clean and quite elegant.

Yeah, I used to know a guy with greyhounds who would moan about the fact that you're basically racing one of the fastest animals in existence for the good spot on the couch.

If I wasn't deader than a doornail from teh CUTE, I'd post that JZ and the bleach pen are the OTP, and it's impossible for Lilybean to get any more adorable. Though she's got that air that all W&H associates have.... No PDAs for her, Plei.

I'm heading to the pub in a few hours, there to wait for the book shops to open at midnight.

We did it for the last book too. Hanging out in a queue with a bunch of ten year olds is a lot more fun when you're drunk.

It is wonderful that we have Congressional Cemetery for our dogs. Gotta tell you, it's a real treat. And on the days when our greyhound buds are around it's a case of watchful anticipation. Mostly, they walk right. next. to. their. people., but on the days they decide to run? Bea-u-ty.

We also have a Whippet bud named Zoom. He's always up for a sprint, that one.

Well, corgis are herding dogs -- they like to keep busy.

Heh. My mom's pit bull is actually a pit/corgi mix. And he does try to herd the humans. So basically, with that mix, you get a dog that tries to herd you, who will KEEL YOU DAID if you don't comply.

Hey Steph, your mom's dog's configuration has completely eclipsed Bartleby's Basselmation mix. Good LORD. Is he much with the squatty?

Is that why the guy is Boo Radley? To signify he's still a child?

And yup, he's squatty. Which makes him look fat, but in actuality, b/c of the Pit, he's all muscle. Mom calls him a short thug.

There are some lovely greyhounds in my neighborhood. When I pet them they nuzzle back so delicately. Not at all like the slobbery "OMG my favorite being evah" that my favorite lab/shepherd used to greet all mobile life forms.

Yeah, if I don't feel better tomorrow, I may go ask for some steroids. As for talking, apparently I sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks, so...yeah.

Baby Lily has SO MUCH HAIR!! Also, the most adorable shirt evah.

And "Boo" definitely makes me think of Boo Radley. Though so does the friend of mine who goes by her middle name Radley. Better than her first name, but...
