What is even happening?

I suspect some of his views, however, are ones that allow him to get a rise out the largest number of people - as he is a conservative in Massachusetts, I can sometimes sympathize since, even as a dyed-in-wool liberal, I sometimes want to take the piss out of some of the more self-important lefties.
Conservative, moderate, and liberal, when used here, by people from here, about other people from here, start on a whole new scale. Political conversation here needs some kind of Kelvinish scale, or something.

I know "conservative" Massachusetts Republicans who would be considered left of center (at least on several issues) in many places.

Well, yes, but we're from Maine originally. :)

That said, "New England conservatives" or, more to the point, "Yankee Republicans" would usually be considered left of center in many places.

Of course Maine was from Massachusetts, originally. I mean, if you really want to go back to originally, and all.
That said, "New England conservatives" or, more to the point, "Yankee Republicans" would usually be considered left of center in many places.
All kidding aside, this is it, exactly. It's why I could vote for Weld, rather than Silber (nasty little ferret who wanted to let the Nanas die).
OMG, it's the Darla thread!!!!

Nah. You can kill Darla easy. It's just that she keeps coming back. This is more like Beast thread.

Ah, John Silber - former president of my alma mater. Not so nicely referred to as "Herr Doktor" and "The One-armed Bandit" by many of his students/ex-students (and faculty/ex-faculty I'm sure).

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Finally finished watching the final episodes (sob) of The Inside.

Loved the Serenity shout-out in Skin and Bone.

It is a shame you never got to finish what you started when you showed us Rebecca's kidnapper had survived the fire .

Ok, seriously, fiftyforty some posts to go. Who's with me? Where's Kat? She's always good for a threadkill, but I haven't seen her around in what seems like months.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I could tell you more about Drive, and then Tim could get mad at me and stop talking to me, and then I could flounce off the board in a big dramatic huff.
