This is why I try hard to avoid knowledge of such things. The meta destroys enjoyment for me. I can't even look at a picture of Streisand without thinking, "SHUT. UP."
Yes. This. Exactly. And this is why I don't pay attention to famous people's political leanings, unless they put them in my face.
Also I would hope that having political views that are considered slightly odd does not keep you from being considered a lovable person. Er,no particular reason for that.
I think there's a difference between liberal, conservative, and bugfuck crazy, i.e. OMG the vaccines are being delivered in black helicopters and the liberal-conservative-masons establishment is putting flouride into our water to monitor our thoughts.
You know when fluoridation began?...1946. 1946, Mandrake. How does that coincide with your post-war Commie conspiracy, huh? It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual, and certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works. </Gen. Ripper>
No mention of "Drive".
I think it's not really on anyone's radar because the pilot hasn't been shot yet. I'm curious to see if it gets mentioned in FBC's presentation or not.
Duh.
hits forehead
I keep forgetting that it's not a Fall 2006 show.
I have wondered before how Joss and Adam worked together. I presume it was a case of 'We'll not talk about politics, like, ever'.
Allyson's Drive description almost makes me want to set up a Drive website. But I'll feel nuts, uh, again.
I have friends and family with very different political views than mine and we get along fine. It's entirely possible to not discuss politics with people.
Besides, from what I understand it was usually AB and AT that had the heated political debates on the Firefly set, and the two of them are still friends.
I presume it was a case of 'We'll not talk about politics, like, ever'.
It's how I work, so it very well could be. On the other hand, they might have enjoyed their differences.
Well, I think it's (usually) fine to discuss politics, myself, as long as both parties understand it shouldn't devolve into hair pulling. I moderate a site which has a very active political forum, which turns into a nightmare every so often.
