Huh, hadn't realised the US was only half way through Who S1. No idea if they'll run straight into series 2.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
This is Sci-Fi we're talking about. Any sort of scheduling permutation is possible. They could stop at 1x8, wait six months, and then show the rest of S1, and then show the first three episodes of S2.
We're just damn lucky that they're showing them in order.
Well, technically they did miss the previous 18 series, Tom ;)

Do they usually not? They have so little "original" (by which I mean shown for the first time in the US, not stuff that originated with them) scripted series TV (isn't it just the Stargates and BSG?) that who knows?
Do they usually not?
They do, I was just being sarcastic.
The word "skein" continues to hurt my soul.
Yeah, I get the 'yarn' connection, but ouch.
My little literal mind keeps picturing folks knitting up characters for the chopping block, kind of like a cross between Tim Minear and Madame Defarge. Actually, that picture is appropriate for this thread, and not so bad when I think about it. And yet, skein = ouch.
Skein, yarn, thread, Defarge. It's all so clear now.
I once had a conversation with Micole (for those of you who remember her) about how, if A Tale of Two Cities had a fandom, Sydney Carton would be the designated Spike.

You're going to work some Dickens into the Gumball Rally of Death and Mystery right? All the characters need Dickensian names.
But stay away from the Ian Fleming names. There is no good there.
