The Minearverse 4: Support Group for Clumsy People
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
ISTR tales of people shoving their hands down...was it Roy Dupuis's pants?
Actually, I was at the Posting Board party where this happened to Boreanaz, though I only found out about it years later (as explanation for why that was his last Posting Board party).
I Seem To Recall.
Oh, ok. I thought it was a reference to a particular fandom. I couldn't remember what show that actor's name referred to.
The people who made Amber Benson cry at con are the worst I've personally heard of (though the James Marsters quid pro quo stripper woman comes close)
Can those of us who came in late hear the stories?
I've heard the stripping woman story. I never heard anything about people making AB cry. That's just terrible.

Which group of whackaloons was that again? Was it the ones who blamed her for her character dying?

If it wasn't actual Kitten-board people, they were certainly Kitten-like in their "goals".
It's been so long I don't recall for sure, but I have a vague sense of it being after she turned down Joss' offer to return for Season 7. Maybe someone who felt betrayed by her not reprising the Tara role and making all right with the world again? Then again, my memory of this is so sketchy I could be wrong about any of the particulars.
Sadly, YouFirst!Woman is burned into my recollection much more distinctly.
After consideration I have to give the gold medal to that person who made the Bronze post about Alyson Hannigan dying in a car crash back in '98. By sheer coincidence it happened to occur when Alyson was out of pocket, and Joss and others went through a very scary patch scrambling to contact her before they could reassure everyone that it was a lie.

Didn't someone posting at the Bronze go through a long, debilitating "illness" and then came on as a sock-puppet friend telling people that said poster had died? Is that too deliberate to be considered craxy?
I think there's been more than one incident of that sort of thing, at the Bronze and elsewhere. But I don't see it as fannish craziness so much as general anonymity-on-the-internets craziness.
