[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

"Banks is a phenomenon...Wildly successful, fearlessly creative."

I think that quote is on the back of all of Banks' novels.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Well, there's also the itching.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

For Betsy:

Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."
"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"
His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.
Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

I'm reading The Algebraist. I quite like it.

I know Columbo has been coming out, but I don't think any of the other shows that aired in the Sunday Mystery Movie block have (or, say, The Rockford Files).

Actually, Universal has also released first-season DVD's for "McCloud," "McMillan & Wife," and "Quincy, M.E." "Rockford," too.

What I'd love to have on DVD, though, is the old British sci-fi series "Blake's 7." I've heard it was the "Firefly" of its' day.

They've been available in the UK for a while now. [eta: Oops, just the first 3 seasons so far.]

Blake's 7 may still hold the record for HSQ.

This is interesting:

As part of its multi-pronged launch efforts for the new legal drama "Conviction," NBC is the first network to premiere a new series on the iTunes Music Store (www.itunes.com) before it airs on broadcast television.
