You know, it's funny. We went to war never looking to come back, but it's the real world I couldn't survive.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I think in the fall.

Wow.

I think anything that gets mentioned in the press release is probably safe. The Futon Critic has the whole thing, but:

As the top creative executive, Ostroff will have available a line-up of some of the most popular programming that appeals to young adults in the media business. These programming assets range from hit reality series such as "America's Next Top Model" and The WB's "Beauty and the Geek," to hit dramas like The WB's "Smallville," "Gilmore Girls," "Supernatural," and UPN's "Veronica Mars" as well as UPN's hit comedies "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Girlfriends" and The WB's hit comedy "Reba." In addition the WWE's "Smackdown," which has been a mainstay at UPN, is expected to play a role in the schedule.

Visilurking

I think it's a brilliant move and about 10 years overdue. I could never understand why they launched two brand new network channels in the same year.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I'm thinking (hoping) the new network will be a "best of" the two other networks. Though best will likely mean highest-rated with a side of critically acclaimed.

My one concern in all of this is the drastic effect it's going to have on what new shows actually get picked up. I don't think "Veronica Mars", for instance, would even if exist if the WB and UPN had already merged, though I think its prospects for surviving on the new network are pretty good.

Ugh. I didn't even think about the fact they're going to have to find room for wrestling. That's going to hurt the number of shows.

Hey. New board.

I could definitely go for Veronica Mars with a Gilmore Girls lead-in.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That sounds porny.

Hey. New board.

It wasn't, but it is now. Mmm. Happy place.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

You're not the only one thinking of that, Gris.

On the upside, if my local WB station is the one that takes over, Veronica Mars in HD. (Our my UPN affiliate doesn't have an HD cable channel.)
