Shouldn't that be breakfast serial, P-C?
I couldn't resist. It was too easy.
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Well played, Kiba. Well played.
When I saw the ratings for 'Dancing With the Stars' my heart sank for the show.
Why do all the good shows die young?
Well, the house I'm staying this summer now officially has three people mourning in it. But it's very subdued mourning.
Mostly we're just all, "Man. I hate when this stuff happens."
Mostly we're just all, "Man. I hate when this stuff happens."
I hate how used I'm getting to having the rug pulled out from under shows I like. I remember being here on the boards and being upset over Firefly, but now it's just, "There goes another one."
When I saw 100 msgs in this thread, I knew the bad news had been confirmed.
*sigh*
Sad now, though not surprised. I figured it was coming when I read about the Dancing with the Stars juggernaut.
The thing I don't get about FOX is that even though a ton of people had said they wouldn't give the show a chance just because it was only a 13 ep. committment and was on FOX who has a reputation of not letting shows develop and giving a quick hook they turn around and justify that line of reasoning. Every time they do it they make it that much harder for the next new FOX show to succeed.
Tim, do the networks decide that your shows are just adverts for the forthcoming DVDs?
Last year a friend & I were speculating that this is The Future, especially with declining audiences and the networks more interested in co-owning the shows they air. More short-run, low-cost series aired with an eye toward luring DVD buyers. Apply the singles/album concept to television shows, basically.
I've just had more bad launches than the space shuttle program. And re-entry is a bitch.
Aside from the great TV you make Tim, it's sentences like this that make me love you so.
Not really sure what to say concerning the news of the seeming non-future of The Inside, other than that it sucks. I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed every one of the first four episodes - which is more than can be truthfully said for many other shows that I watch.
Maybe if that "everything happens in threes" saying is actually true, then soon we'll all have three wonderful DvD boxsets on our shelves (Firefly/Wonderfalls/The Inside), and your next show will run and run and run.
Pleased to hear that episode 13 won't leave us hanging, at least.
So...where do I sign the petition for this Allyson/Kristen Buffista DvD commentary???
You know, I'm very frustrated by the British short series ...
Me too ita. Though I'll admit there was a certain satisfying quality to the recent Doctor Who being a nice self-contained 13-episode season/arc/story. Of course, there will be at least another two "short series" of that, so it's possibly not a very good example.
Lost is getting CINEMA ADVERTS before WAR OF THE WORLDS in the UK at the moment.
They are? Must remember to go and see War Of The Worlds then I guess....
Also? Condolences to Auntie Allyson. *hugs*
What everyone else said on the condolences front, both for Tim, and for those of us pulling for it. I've been trying to do a lot of "don't jinx it" thoughts, but, deep down, there were a few warning flags that pinged me to be ready for this.
sigh
Oh well, I'm in for whatever Fox is willing to air.
