Well that sucks. Learn from your mistakes. Next time, include lots of dancing people. Last week's was really good, and I finally got someone who hates TV to watch it, and he liked it, too. When can you get another show that stays on tv? Soon please, I'm sick of those other horrible shows. I'll never get over Fox getting rid of all of these good shows. Every single time I start to like a show, it goes away. Firefly, Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls, Boomtown, Angel, Tru Calling, and now the Inside. I want more good shows, try to make another show with Katie Finneran, please. Heee, wouldn't that be fun if it were that easy?

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
I'd say there are some good UK dramas produced - things like Cold Feet (which is totally not to everyones taste, but is honest to god really good TV writing, and went on for a good 5 series) of 6 or so episodes a year.
It's worth noting because UK dramas have so low budgets, they take a LOT longer to produce. A season of Cold Feet, for example, was only a few episodes, but took a good 8 months or so writing and months of filming, because you have a small crew and basically no money to do anything (can anybody remember the last UK drama to do anything in the rain - I mean, intentionally in the rain, not just because it's always pissing it down in the UK?).
Cold Feet! I forgot that one. Really liked that too.
Kevin -- what was the reception for Green Wing? I watch it because I have a hella crush on Rhind Tutt, but I FF a lot, because other bits are horribly watch-from-the-hall.
because it's been so long since I wrote for Buffy anyway.::sigh:: It was really some of your best work too, Tim...
Snark aside (is that even possible here?), I am disappointed that all signs point to no for The Inside continuing, but still comforted that it looks like the DVDs won't be a battle. Shows I really enjoy watching don't tend to be shows that the masses support. I think the masses are wrong but the studios, they disagree.
and took it out for ice cream and M&Ms a whole lot.Now I want ice cream treats. (For dog's sake, if you are going to mistype that, don't do it the way I originally did. Twice. Because ewww, sticky and cold.)
I think there might be a market for ice cream treats in that shape.
I'd love to hear the Allyson and Kristen show.
Thanks, Matt. And yeah, while most of the reviews for "Wonderfalls" were really positive, the Hollywood Reporter and Variety both panned it. In fact, their pans for "The Inside" were actually more positive.

How funny. The targets for the VM and FF SOS campaigns, respectively.
Allyson and Kristen should SO make a web-show thing. I'd do all the techie bits.
West Wing is aired on Channel 4 and E4 here, and does quite well. We have, off the top of my head, currently: Scrubs (on about 8 times a week now), Friends (on about 8 times a week STILL), Six Feet Under, Without A Trace, all the CSIs, Wonderfalls, Firefly, Dead Like Me, 24, X-Files, Huff, Law and Order and House.
Original drama wise, I'm currently watching "Sugar Rush", a UK thing about a 15 year old girl's life. It airs at 11pm, and there's no way it'd air in the US I suspect (she's Bi, does drugs, and is pretty much an a-typical UK teenager).
ETA: I just noticed how much current UK TV Tim has a hand in.
I love a man who can say, "That pan was better than the last pan."
I'm not one to denigrate shows like Law & Order, which I also watch. It's tightly written and well acted. L&O: CI is actually pretty damn quirky. It's just that the focused stand-alone episodes are easier for the occasional TV watcher to watch. I'm not a reality show fan, because I like shows with actual writers and actors. If I wanted to watch unscripted stupidity, I could get to know my next-door neighbor better.

Amen. The place I lived post-college totally dissipated any appeal Cops might have had for me, as the guest cast seemed to live on my street.
