he wouldn't really be able to kill anyone though.

They've got seven series regulars now. They're ripe for the killing.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm listening to John Macnamara and David Greenwalt talk about how their Profits differ from each other's.

Which, really, makes me wonder about other writer's Profits. Like, say, Tim's.

I'm surprised -- it's a way twisted show, and I'm not sure how I'd have reacted at the time, without having become acclimated to (and bored by) The Sopranos and other anti-heros. But I'm thinking -- he could be darker. Well, maybe not and get picked up, but now my appetite's been whetted. I mean, he could have caused more damage, you know?

Well, if it had gone to a second season, he was probably going to blow Joanne up in a phone booth. That's darker, no?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

He might have, given more episodes. The final one was pretty dark.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I'm not sure Gail would have lasted too long into a second season.

You think the last episode was dark?

ETA: Oh wait. That was the episode where whatsherface kills her uncle. I see your point.

Since I usually watch them all together, it's hard to remember specifically what happened in which.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Yep. When he sent a Girl Scout to the office as a reminder.

I'm surprised that Joanne and Sykes lasted all that long. But I suppose the narrative framework required it. More squashing! Trample lives and hearts and minds!

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

Adds Profit to Netflix queue because not reading the whitefont is driving me crazy!
