I was thinking about The Inside and Wonderfalls and TMIAHM, and wondering if maybe I couldn't be entirely objective about my love for those projects
I rarely completely dislike Tim's work. I'll dislike specific things, which can be minor (But why does he have a yellow pen?) or not minor (simulated bliss? WTF?), but usually I like the thing as a whole. I'm not sure if it's because a) the things that Tim finds interesting when telling a story are the same things I find interesting, b) I like Tim and am, therefore, predisposed towards liking his stuff, or c) I'm a suck up. Maybe it's a combo.
I've always felt slightly guilty that one of Tim's episodes of Wonderfalls was my least favorite.
By the time we got to Wonderfalls, I stopped looking at the credits. I think Tim had a major hand in pretty much everything but two.
Did he just do a bit of tightening up after the fact on "Wax Lion"? I may be in error, but I always felt that Bryan Fuller's voice was the predominant one in the pilot.
The pilot was one of the two I was referring to. I can't remember the name of the other one now.
Sing Andrew Lloyd Webber, Allyson, and dearly as I love you, we cross swords.
Aw, come on. Joseph is fun Lloyd Webber! Except maybe for "Close Every Door." It's Biblical history and a show all in one!

For me, I'm pretty sure it's a, with a bit of d) even when our interests don't coincide the writing is so damn good that I don't care. I can't really verify this on later shows, but I can through Firefly, because I had no idea who Tim was when I first saw him, and only realized later that he was the writer of a good portion of my faves. Also, there are a few of his eps on various shows that I didn't like as well. I liked them, but didn't love them. I figure, anyone who can create eps like OoG or AYNOHYEB can throw out a few average eps without losing too much cred.
Oh, and as I re-read the writer worship that is in this post, I realize that the sucking up thing may have started to come into play with me too. But not until after Firefly.
I have worked out my dreamcast for Moon. I will never work in casting.
My dream director is David Fincher. Spike Jonze is also on the list. After that, Wes Anderson.
Spike Jonze would be awesome. I'm not sure I know who David Fincher is. IMDB time. Wes Anderson - huh. I'm not sure I'd like him on it, actually, though I'm not sure why. I guess it just doesn't strike me as a story that's focused towards the quirks of dysfunctional humans, which is what my brain fastens on for him.
ETA: Oooh. Fight Club, Seven? I'm in on Fincher.
