People actually adopt them as pets? Really? Or was this an adopt-a-highway kind of thing? I don't think I would ever try to touch one--those teeth look scary. I just think they're adorable when they're all playing together.

Think of them as big-ass ferrets. Same family, same mindset, same casual disregard for the fragile health of creatures whose skins aren't made of kevlar and whose skeletons aren't made of rubber. See, they think it's fun to grab each other by the face and throw each other off a cliff, because, to them, it doesn't hurt.
