I saw Jasmine Guy in a production of Chicago. I was skeptical going in, but she was actually pretty good and not Whitley-like at all .
She was here recently to give a scholarly lecture on her book, "Afeni Shakur: Evolution of a Revolutionary." I didn't see it, but several people who did told me that they were impressed with her work.
