Fury "cheerfully" reveals that there is no plan.Hee.
i would compare him to DeKnight, but that would just be mean.Hee, again. Also? To whom?

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Probably because I stopped paying any attention after they reneged on their promise with the S1 finale. I went from loyal fan to meh, in the space of an hour.
This was DH. He announced immediately after the S1 finale, "We're not watching this show anymore." It didn't last. When we watch it now he always says, "they're making this up as they go along, aren't they?"
Thanks, Kristen!
Somebody was actually surprised that there was no plan?
I wasn't so much surprised as annoyed, although I think I like Fury better now. They said that there was a plan. Insisted on it. Said over and over that there would be resolution in the first season (not of everything, but at least some). To my knowledge, they never claimed a plan for Alias, although I never followed it, so I could be completely wrong there.
Looking for the kerfuffle, I found an article where Lindelof blithely says that the fans may be pissed, but they're not going to tell them anything because that's how to do a cliffhanger. It is actually possible, and I've seen it done, to resolve the initial issue (or at least one of them) while bringing up five more, often bigger, ones. In last season alone, see Veronica Mars, Desperate Housewives.
Um, this is kind of off topic, isn't it. How about that wonderful work Tim did on Buffy!
We missed a huge chunk of season 1, so we're sort of enjoying the going-nowhere-ness of it, because we were prepared for it.

Tim's work on Buffy is SOOOO overrated.
If only he'd had a plan.
If only he'd had a plan.
I thought he left the planning to the beagles.
I was out of the country for most of last TV season so I waited, and waited, and gleefully/painfully ignored any Lost coverage until I got the first season on DVD. I watched, I enjoyed, I was let down.
At that point, I found out Fury wasn't returning. So, as far as any kerfuffly nonsesne, I was unaware. But, in my mind, I just imagined Fury left BECAUSE they couldn't wrap up a story in 24 episodes.
At the very least, on 24, there is an end to the season.
So you know where I stand, I think answering questions with more questions dumbs it down. Or takes the audience's money for a ride on a short bus.
Steve Almond is mean. He made me laugh.
