[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
it means the major networks are still beating it with repeats (except ABC which is airing that stupid Dancing with the stars).
Shoot, I missed the doll with duct tape. Nice touch.
I think its just hard for it to brake through with a HUGE summer hit to compete with.. i don't get why people watch "Dancing with Stars". I guess i am not suppose to get it.
Who know it would get such a following
It didn't do worse than last week. It seems to have done marginally better.
I'm crossing my fingers for next week's "Two Hour Event." Maybe that'll pull in people.
I saw an ad for a Nanny 911 Two Hour Event. Fox really likes its Two Hour Events.
The upside is that Dancing with the Stars ends next week so unless ABC has another surprise "hit" in the wings, the numbers might be better after that?
You know, until Firefly I had no idea how ratings worked. In a reprise of my Firefly experience, I found myself looking up the fast nationals for The Inside this morning.
Man, I wish the bazillions-of-people-tuning-in-right-from-the-start karma that Lost lucked into had been shared by this show. I mean, I think the former earned the 17 million at the start, but it's pissed away any claim to deserving that many watchers. Whereas with this writing staff and cast I expect to be as happy about episodes 12 and 22 as I was about 2.
I agree Matt. You can practically create a show that's anywhere from 50-100 on the 100-point Quality Scale, and the success of your show is still going to be mostly determined by a roll of the dice on premiere day.
Of course, FOX managed to nurture House despite bad ratings until they could lead it in with Idol, and suddenly it turned into a hit.
The Inside just has a tough gig as the only new interesting thing on FOX over the summer. It's tough to market, you need people to just watch it and give it a shot, and Stacked isn't exactly gonna bring 'em running.
