I used to hate Gelson's. But then, during the strike, I was won over by the close proximity to my house and the never having to wait on a long line.

We have A&P, but not regular A&P, like we used to have in Connecticut when I was a kid. Ours stands for Alaskan and Proud. I think it's hilarious. I heard that they were sued by the big A&P, but won because they always use the full name in their advertizing, but I think that might be an urban legend. Although not all that urban.

I like Gelson's in part because it has a Victor Benes inside. And while it's wildly overpriced, the worker bees are always nice.
