I took a chunk of my idea for a spec and turned it into a spec for another show. (Because, hi, I'd already written some of it and, damnit, I don't have that many words that I can afford to be wasting them.) Sadly, the bulk of the story was so specific to The Inside and Rebecca that it just wouldn't work anywhere else. Plus there was some crazy assed OoG non-linear storytelling going on, which I don't think fits most other series.
It makes me sad, because The Inside is so good, and OoG is so good, and why isn't there more room for this on television? (I know the answer, but knowing and feeling, not the same.) It is a smart move, Kristen, to reuse/salvage an idea. And a pretty professional one, from what I've seen and read.
