That's disturbing. You're emotionally scarred and will end up badly.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Moral of the story: Even 1%

Yeah, well, Hollywood accounting is a special arcane art. And you gotta have serious mojo to get the back-end. Jack Nicholson made (far) more money by getting a cut on Batman than he did on anything else in his entire career.

a checkup, the dreaded prep for the upper crowns, the installation of said crowns and then a final checkup

And the checkups are not supposed to be so bad, right? So it's only two more "big" ones?

Also, it would be lovely of you to give yourself such a nice birthday present (um, when is your birthday, be the way?).

I suggest you grade the papers by throwing them down the stairs and giving A's to any which are heavy enough to slide down and reach the next landing.

I can't possibly give A to everybody, right? I mean, the lecturer will kill me, or have me grade it all over again, which is only a little less bad.

"rather irritatingly"? Cheers Herc.

Simon, you irritated Herc? I couldn't possibly love you more than I do right now.

It's the best birthday present ever. Okay, no, it's the second best. The best is becoming a non-full time working person. And October 15. Just two months away!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I'm trying to watch WaT and clean. It's hurting my post response time.

This is me sans WaT, and with brass polish.

Heather, I bought the first CD. If it's as good as it looks, I'll get the second. You should totally ask your sister for a cut.

I think she's only Molly in this latest installment. 9 years ago (when the series first started, she was about to graduate high school and hadn't moved to Austin to act yet.

I thought you've already left your job. Hmm, but now that I think about it, maybe you just announced leaving your job, and I misunderstood. I'm so glad that your new age will start so nicely for you (and, hey, it's even a little less than two months from now, by almost a week. It's even closer!).

I have no brass to polish. Instead, I have this thoroughly irritating plaster dust that refuses to just go away. I sweep and I swiffer and, still, the plaster dust remains, mocking me.

maybe you just announced leaving your job

I told them I was leaving and we crafted an exit strategy. Which, of course, they have completely screwed up. But I don't care. I just sing, la la la la la la October 7th la la la la la la.

Whenever there's something like this, the one thing that refuses to fix itself and go right, my mom says that it's against the "evil eye". It's still not very comforting.

I'm a music ignorant, but I love that song. Do you already have anything planned for after that? A great vacation, something else that's fun and "yay"-going?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Wow was I not on the same music wavelength as this thread tonight. I've been listening to my Camper van Beethoven cassettes.

Go back and listen to "Black Crow" and "Coyote."

I have "Black Crow" sung by Cassandra Wilson. Does that count?

Ugh.

Tim, that's a funny way to spell "hug."

Things I do for Buffistas.

And we appreciate it. Hey, we left a light on for you.

Do you already have anything planned for after that?

The original plan was Tahiti. Ten days in an overwater bungalow with no cell phone and a stack of books. But now I'm trying to find a way to swing the part-time work status that doesn't require selling my condo. Therefore, Bora Bora, much like Vienna, will just have to wait for me.

So I think I'll take two or three weeks off and stay home. Probably still trying to get rid of the plaster dust.
