[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

No, no, no. They played themselves. Like, on AW, at the time of Crystal Gale's appearance, there was a serial killer on the loose and he was stalking Crystal. He, of course, didn't get her.

The then 29-year-old John Waite played himself and had some kind of romantic relationship with the then 16-year-old character of Taryn, played by Nicollette Sheridan. I forget why she didn't run off with him. I think her mother threatened his manager or something.

The evil is this way?

We have Jerry Springer, though, which furfils our White Trash needs.

Hee. But soaps are not White Trash -- well, not most/all of them, anyway. It's just that after all these years, there are really no completely new storylines and the repetition is something. Some of the shows/storylines can be really well-written and acted, but it never lasts forever.

Wow, what celebrity would volunteer to play himself/herself in a serial killer/stalker storyline? Oye.

What is even happening?

Is this the "I Ain't Missing You" John Waite?

Right, because if there's anything you folks in the UK need, its the umpteenth version of the Hooker-with-the-Heart-of-Gold marries the Rich Billionaire (who just happens to live in this backwater town) and gives birth to twins who age into adults in 5 years, where one becomes the Evil Twin and tries to have her sister, mom and dad committed, or killed, or banished to the About to be Cancelled Spin-off.

But...don't they have "Coronation Street"?

ETA:...and "EastEnders"?

Is this the "I Ain't Missing You" John Waite?

Yes, and it happened on "Paper Dolls," which, apparently, is Kristen's favorite. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

If you think Crystal Gayle was a weird choice for a soap cameo, though, imagine the B-52's on GL. I mean, the B-52's? On GUIDING LIGHT? Dude.
