The Minearverse 4: Support Group for Clumsy People

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I killed the thread with my topicy goodness. Killed it. I am bad.

"The Inside" could theoretically return at some point [...] but Minear's not so sure he wants it to.

While I respect that, Mr. Minear, I must admit that I agree w/ Kate O'Hare's assessment here. "The Inside" could theoretically return, even without Rachel Nichols as lead. Heck, right there, w/ her departure, you have the seeds for a new, overriding arc for the show: Rebecca disappears, and whenever the VCU (including the new recruit, Rebecca's replacement...preferably a young lad in his mid-to-late 20's...who may or may not be Web's illegitimate son) aren't involved in the usual Freak-of-the-Week theatrics, they're trying to untangle the latest knot in the mystery. Is Rebecca dead, or is she actually still alive? Did she vanish of her own accord, or did someone abduct her (again)? What did she know, or find out, to cause this to happen? Does it have anything to do w/ her past, or w/ any (or all) of the other members of the VCU? And, most important, what does the FBI have to do w/ all of this?

Play it right, and it could be the kind of existential, conspiracy-spewing, answer-no-questions morass Thomas Pynchon (not to mention, "X-Files") fans gobble up on a regular basis.

ETA:...and frustrate the hell out of the rest of the country...but at least they're watching, right?

BTW, sorry about the fanwanking. It's something us "Guiding Light" fans have learned to do from time to time. Why? Why, for survival purposes, of course.

I assumed Kate meant the already filmed unaired eps could return. Not that the show could be revived without two of its stars.

...Oh. My bad.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sam and Amanda are teetering towards the inevitable end of their marriage. So I had to skim some of the posts upthread. I know Evan's in the demise, but I don't want to remember the details.

The guy who plays Evan is pretty crappy, but he's great when he wants to kiss Amanda.

Hey. New board.

That's funny: I'm pretty great, but pretty crappy when I want to kiss... anybody.

Oh no. Somebody's harshing on Preacher (Emerson, the character Charles Flohe played on "The Edge of Night"). But, I guess it was bound to happen.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Does anyone know if the (Boomtown) eps on DVD end up at anything like a good ending spot?

As far as I know, all that's out is the complete first season, and if I remember which episode was the last of the first season, then yeah. It ends in a good place.

I have the DVDs but haven't cracked them yet.

"Being hungover is like winning the lottery, except they pay you in regret!" - T-Rex

does anyone remember the show Freakylinks? that was FOX too, wasn't it? i loved that show. much like Firefly, Wonderfalls and The Inside one day it was there and the other *poof*. gone.

Heh, yeah, I remember. That one was at least lucky enough to get to air all it's episodes, even though it was 5 episodes here, then gone for a few months, then back for another 4, and gone for a few months, and then back for the last 4.

Did you ever visit the website, tiggy? Haxan has it archived now in their portfolio:
