That's about the only good thing the waves from Dennis have done. A town near here was still partly underwater yesterday. The storm surges were devestating. Most of the oyster houses were washed away, many people lost their boats and their livelihood. Buildings that survived Ivan (and a direct hit from Kate in '85) were washed away.

Christ. For two days in a row there's been a bomb threat against the CTA. Today it was against the Purple line, a couple of hours before I took that train. I did see two cops looking around for bombs at the station while I was waiting for the train, but at the time I didn't know there had been a bomb threat earlier.
If I end up having to wait for a train because of a bomb threat, I'm gonna be pissed.
