How many Supreme Court justices haven't been judges before being appointed?
I always thought the name Serenity had a vaguely funereal sound to it.

Lots of Supremes haven't been judges. Off the top of my head, I can think of two important ones: Earl Warren, and Howard Taft, who was Chief Justice after he was President.

I knew there was a reason we didn't go walking this morning. Actually, I blame Ellie. After nursing her in the early morning (around 6 am) it's so wonderful to just lean back on the couch and hold her. She's so warm and cuddly.

I think the "must sleep now" part is supposed wear off, gradually, at least for you--or maybe you just get used to them. But I think the hormones pass to the baby, and knock her out for a little while, which is completely wonderful.

With a new baby, aren't you pretty much always in "must sleep now" mode? I mean, I'm like that anyway, and there's no good reason I can't get a full night's sleep.

yesterday was hot and proceeded to get more and more disgusting into teh evening. Today hot and muggy already. But, of course, FREEZING in my office. I keep cardigans here, but my throat is feeling a little scratchy today and I think the extreme temp changes are gonna make me sick.

I think it would be a hoot if Congress pressures Bush to nominate Clinton as a Supreme Court Justice. I'm not sure I want him as a Justice, but funny anyway.
