It sounds like the fan isn't coming on which could be a pretty simple and relatively inexpensive repair. OTOH, the last time I thought that about a car of mine that was overheating (a Mercury/Nissan), it turned out the engine computer was the culpruit. Actually that ended up being really inexpensive due to a super-seekrit warrenty on the engine computer.
Because when we have breakfast this weekend, there's an INCREDIBLE crab cake on the menu.
