I just read the W article and, wow, is that disturbing. She's like a little animatronic pod person.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Perkins -- it was a lesson. I'm wondering now if I'm in decent enough shape to go out with friends without being an annoyance.

It occured to me, as I was in the water, that if I get hit in the head in krav, there's a very low chance of me drowning. I don't get the impression that people are terribly worried about surfers in the way they can get worried about fighters, but still.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

The drowning is an issue. though I think the reason for the lower level of worrying might be that surfers try not to get hit in the head. Krav, NSM.

Did you try to get hit in the head when you were training? Did you see other people try to get hit in the head? Did anyone suggest to you that getting hit in the head was desirable?

How many times have you said "I'm off to hit/kick people in the head"

eta: ?, and also ^

I think Perkins might have been referring to the fact that, while getting hit in the head by your board is a possibility, your board isn't actively trying to hit you in the head.

If anyone there was trying to get hit in the head, it'd make it a lot easier. How many times have I said "I'm off to get hit/kicked in the head?"

Yeah!

(Hi Kristen!)

eta: That Yeah was for what Kristen said, but I guess you have a point too, ita.

Only a small one though.

That's a whole 'nother discussion. The board also has no concern for my life or limb, and neither does the ocean.

The kravvers that surf that I've talked to think that surfing's the more dangerous hobby.

My mother's still more freaked out by the krav, though.

Hi Perkins!

Also, after watching the Live 8 coverage, I have concluded that there needs to be some sort of licensing agency that governs who gets to cover Queen songs live and who does not.

For example, Robbie Williams gets a pass. Green Day does not.
