Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

ita, thanks for sharing about your sister. I was worried.

I heard about all this London stuff when I woke up, and turned on the TiVo to catch all the morning programs I'd set to record, hoping to hear about Dancing with the Stars. It was a really unfortunate surprise to hear about the bombs, instead. I hope everyone ends up as safe as possible.

What she said. I hope the hurricane damage is minimal or non-existent as well.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

And Villaraigosa continues to impress me as a politician. He made a point of riding the LA subway this morning, and reassuring passengers while there.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

My sister has reported our first related "but for the grace of my alarm clock" story --

when I heard the time of the bombs (8:50AM london time), I thought, oh, all of my friends should be okay then, because they (and I) were never on time for work.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

How safe was my sister? She found out about it, at work, from the internet.

Hey, you know Right Click Lick is shutting down, right?

I totally missed this! Why?

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Maybach is the upscale division of Mercedes.

Um... did Mercedes need an upscale division? Isn't that kind of redundant?

He made a point of riding the LA subway this morning, and reassuring passengers while there.

All seven of them, right?

I should not be cute about other people's trains. A Green Line car derailed not far from here this morning. Luckily, after I was already at work. (I don't think anyone was hurt.)

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

I can understand why the Kingdom of teh Perky is becoming a tyranny.

I read "tyranny" as "tranny". It was a different sentence entirely.

Holy crap! Where was that, Nutty? The last two days have not been good ones for the MBTA, have they, after the Orange Line fiasco yesterday (not sure what it was, but they were have massive delays).

I just read an article on V12 cars, and IIRC Mercedes was low-end.

There's a lot of room out there, for people with mad money.

Coding and Sleeping

Maybach is there to compete against the other German super expensive sedans under the Rolls-Royce and Bently brands.
