Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Jesse, I was contemplating a set, but my thinking went along the lines of "If I can't find a freakin' necklace, how the hell am I going to find a set?"

Perkins, how multichromatic are they?

I wore it without a slip at my grandmother's memorial service and noticed (whoops!) that when backlit, it was fairly transparent.

I learned this lesson, many years ago, from the then Lady Diana.

Well, that and never marry royalty. Ever.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am totally going about being a Gen Xer all wrong.

Whoops.

The onyx set is gorgeous.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Heh. There is that.

Maybe ita can help out with this, Maria, because it is hard to explain.

I used "multihued" rather than not monochromatic on purpose. It's not a solid black/grey, but it's also not multi-tcolored, but rather it's got some depth or differentiation to the color that to me makes it more interesting.

If I only had a brain...

The slips I wear with my long gauzy skirts are all black. Now that I'm making a pink gauzy skirt, I need to make a pink slip. Oh, the hardship.

Maria, another thought- my necklace is a little too dressy for work here, which means I don't wear it very often. Do you want me to fedex it to you so you could look at it against the dress?

Perkins, you are a gem (heh--go me with the irresistable bad pun). You don't have to go through all that. I'd feel terrible if anything happened to them. I think I'm going to make my sister take the dress to the jewelry store this weekend when we're both there, and we can figure it out.

Let me know if you change your mind--sending things from here is really easy, and even though I like the necklace, I'm not attached to it.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Maria, you might look here. It's really inexpensive, and they have sets.
