I like Gehry and don't find his buildings ugly--some of them are quite beautiful. They are definite statements, but sometimes they add a lot of energy to a skyline. The Disney Concert Hall [link] in downtown LA is practically the only building there built since the 20s which is not boring and faceless.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Rumor is one person in our group has already been notified they are being laid off, so it looks like today is the day (unless mgmt is sick and wrong and dragging out the notifications over the week which would be INSANE.)
I guess that means I'll know by the end of the day?
Eeps.
Noncontract coworkers won't find out until August.
yikes, sara. good vibes to you. Hope it's done today... it sucks whatever way it's done, and it's probably better to be done quickly, and to know one way or another. Here's strength to you to get through today!
sarameg - I didn't get to post with you at all lately, but all sorts of vibes for may-what-is-best-for-you-happens are crossing the ocean your way already.
Nilly!
Heh. I'm not really stressed about it anymore. I've managed to finally box that up for use in case a) I get laid off and or b) I don't and jeez, I gotta make up my own mind?
It is a little freaky, in any case.
Nora!
How is the move going?
sarameg, hope everything goes the best way possible for you. Whichever way that may be.
we are moved in properly, most of the boxes on the first 2 floors are unloaded, and we had our first guests, my parents, up for the weekend. They didn't sleep over at our place, but stayed at an inn up the road. Feeling settled in. Starting to feel like home. Happy.
