Is there any kind of household cleaner that might make a good substitute for bug killer?
Bugs don't like windex. And enough of anything will kill a bug.
Nothing else is coming to mind.

Do you have a vacuum hose extension that can reach that far?
eta: Spray starch on the wings while it's flying might ground it.
I feel like the SG team in the SGA episode 38 Minutes, where they were trying to get the bug off Shepperd's neck and only had minimal supplies.
No vacuum cleaner. It seems to be trapped and if I wasn't getting really sleepy I'd go get posion.
I spray startched it and then sprayed ith with some kind of cleaner with clorox.
It's still moving
And now I'm starting to feel like bugs are crawling on me.
It's still moving
But it's probably not very happy.
Oo, I love the smell of a thunderstorm on the way. Mmmm.
I think if I close my door and put a towel around the bottom it can't get in.

Im going to stagger off to bed, send me no bug in the bed room ma please.

Stick a bunch of dead bugs on pins in front of the door. Use yellow paint (to simulate bug blood) to write "Forbidden Zone" on the door. Project an image of a burning Law-Giver bug.
"The Law-Giver bleeds!"
No bug-ma to you!
