Wash: So, two days in a hospital? That's awful. Don't you just hate doctors? Simon: Hey. Wash: I mean, present company excluded. Jayne: Let's not be excluding people. That'd be rude.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wow, that's really cool.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Me no comprende. Why would your hip ratio make them a no-no?

It's not so much the hip ratio, as it is the fact that a good portion of my weight is in the upper hip area. Hip-huggers bisect that weight and look awful. As for low-low riders(which would hit me under that region), nu-uh. If I have to wax to wear a pair of jeans, they're not worth it.

OK, this Beauty and the Geek show is kind of cute. At least they're all learning valuable skills!

What is even happening?

Aha! I remember reading about this story years ago but nobody ever seems to know what I'm talking about when I bring it up. Which seemed ridiculous because it's the most fascinating thing ever! So I half convinced myself that I had imagined Nu Shu, the secret coded Chinese writing that existed, hidden from men and the world for a thousand years.

Oh my word. I've bookmarked the page. That's incredible. I'm so glad the gov't is now opening a school to keep it alive. I'm quite interested in reading the author's book now, too.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I could not resist a quick google and found a whole Nushu site:

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I kind of liked last week's episode too.

Art Crawl!!!

I loved the footage from within the tornado. Didn't they say that they had calculated that the pebbles and other bits of rubbish were spinning at 100 miles an hour?

My bedroom is cooling off as I type! YAY A/C! Although I think I need to go buy a shitload of stuff to seal up all the gaps. I don't think the unit is made for the kind of windows I have, or I put it in wrong, or something. For now I'm using facecloths.

OK, two things from the Daily Show commercial break: There was an ad for a show with a guy who said, "The problem with the world is there are too many stupid people.... and not enough people to eat them!" Sounds like something people here might like.

Also, who's the guy doing the voiceover in the Budweiser ad? He's so familiar, and I can't figure it out.

I'll agree with that.

msbelle better have taped the Inside. I'd mentioned it to mom & there was a review in the paper (that was pretty good) and she didn't sound too interested (mind, they haven't seen series tv in um....years.) So we cooked instead.

Took the parents to Druid Hill Park, Hampden, I was bought a real pottery bowl (as opposed to ziploc disposable) and then I took them to Dickeyville which is utterly darling and does not feel like it is in the city. We walked and admired gardens and then came home and made dinner and perused real estate stuff. She tells me she realizes now it is a totally different ballgame than at home. Possibly not even the same language. So she understands my daunt.

Uh, I think my dad's phone just beeped at me. Or there is some piece of electronics invading my house. Kinda creepy.
