I have never figured out what some women do in the bathroom. I have stood waiting outside a stall for 10 minutes. Are they changing their identities?

Are they changing their identities?
Well, now that they've taken out all the phone booths...
I know I'm usually the one who answers these questions, but...
I'm looking at a job listing where applicants are instructed to email resumes to jim@whatever.org. I've been poking around the website, but haven't been able to determine the last name and title of Jim. So do use the salutation "Dear Jim" or "To Whom It May Concern"?
I think you're right, LJ -- I just did a page count on a not-very-full page like that and got 445.
Are they changing their identities?
And even easier now that there's WiFi in there.
My great great grandmother refused to ever wear anythign other than long skirts without undies (or so the story goes, I imagine she wore a blouse of some sort as well), because she so cherished the ability to squat in a field.
My Anthropology Prof. loved to use the example of some culture where the men wore something sarong-y (long & tightly wrapped) that required them to sit/squat to pee and the women wore looser skirts (I think), so could just stand over the hole to go - as an example of just 'cuz you think something is a hard-and-fast man v. woman rule, it ain't necessarily so.
Looking back over what I copied and what I typed, I no longer remember why I thought they were related. But what the heck, interesting factoid!
On a completely different topic, how many words to a page would you ballpark for 12-point Times New Roman on 8.5x11 paper? I'd always thought 500 or so, but my new boss keeps saying something much higher, and I don't want to argue with her.
Probably not much higher, but I can buy higher. The standard estimate for doublespaced Courier 12 is 250, and TNR gives you significantly more words per page than Courier, so I can see singlespaced being up to around 600.
I wouldn't use "Dear Jim", Susan.

I think you use the latter if no identity is provided for in the listing. Besides, you never know if jim is really Jim, or maybe Janet Iglesias McSquarsky's initials.

Double spaced=250.
