Tara: What's so bad about them coming here? Aren't they good guys? I mean, Watchers, that's just like whole other Gileses, right? Buffy: Yes! They're scary and horrible!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'd be hesitant to stand next to him during a meteor shower.

See, I think that'd be the safest place to be. 'Cause with his luck, you know they won't be falling on you.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday JZ!

Spent the weekend at a filk con which was fun, in an interesting way. What do I mean by interesting? As an example, one of the Guests of Honor(There were co-GoHs) came down with laryngitis the day before the con. Her part of the GoH concert ended up being karioke-ish, in that she played guitar and other people sang her songs.(Including me. This was my first time singing lead on stage. eep)

Latest info on the new house: We're going to take possession of it the same day as the settlement.(Mid-August) We're going to wait to put the condo up for sale until after we move out and clean/replace rugs. Now to start packing...

Hey, maybe that's how I get a date!

lori, you should not grunt at the nice secretary with fabulous hair who keeps the paperwork all good. BAD IDEA!

(The astro department my dad is in is one of the highest salary grades for admins. Right above the art department and below the president's office staff. I think there must be some logic at work there.)

OK, so there was some reality competition I caught the last of. Involved a quiz on the stuff in rev. am. hist. And I knew the answers. Even obscurish ones. It's been almost 13 years since my 2 years of american political history classes, and really, I don't use it much. So thank you again, Mr. Smith. You did a kickass job making it come alive.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Except meteors tend to be a bit larger than baseballs.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Yay surprise mail.

Yay Friday and Monday off.

I had a really good first day, but I don't think I will be online everyday. Not even close. I guess after the first month, I will get DSL at home and just deal with night and weekend posting.

So spill. Your coworkers all good and wonderful? All sorts of fun projects?

Well, I made people laugh, people were friendly, no one seems territorial. I contributed 2 things on projects. I was introduced via phone to the other office and to 2 clients. I was given 2 follow up emails to one client to handle myself, one involving me asking for clarification on things that no one had thought of. I caught a potential legal issue and will meet with legal tomorrow about it.

My computer and stuff is all up and running already and I was sending and receiving real work emails by lunch.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Damn, that's quick! Good stuff.

That sounds good! Like they were prepared for you and know what to do with you, which is reassuring.
