hmmph... I saw two movies this weekend which is way unusual. both were good ( ok, howl's was excellent) . But all I am reading in the paper is that the movie business is doing terrible. so prices may continue to rise. Are they on crack???!?!! ask me why I don't do what i did this weekend more often? because 10 bucks a movie is way too much for a movie that might be ok. I can get that on my tv. or from a movie rental place for ( being generous here) about a quarter of the price. cheaper still if I go to the library. If movies were 5 bucks - I'd go much more often. even if they were 7. which would also mean more consession money- because I 'd be buying hot dogs for dinner - ( we tend to go to the movies durring the week). of course, I think if the 25 screen multiplex did one non-blockbuster movie in one theater they might get a little more money in them too...

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Staples has 8.5x11 magnetic sheets (usually in the same eisle as all the avery labels/nametag thingies), and so does my local stationary store.
I have dinnered, cooked/prepared lunch for tomorrow. I feel like I need to prepack my bag, but really that is just dumb. I should try to get to bed early though.
Well, that jerk pork was too jerky. Still, terribly tender, so I know for next time what worked and what didn't.
Mmm. Pork.
Mmm. Jerk.
And lo! TiVo thinks I need to watch After The Thin Man. Then I'll finish my work.

Mmmmm....Nick and Nora....
There's more than a few in that area, since it's the paper district.
Yeah, but that one place has more general crafts stuff than the other places, I've found.
Oh, but the real reason I even came to post was that I'm all bummed that the person I wanted to win the Food Network host show got kicked off! Bah.
Heh. Beth that's the same logic behind transit around the Bay Area. "Hmmm, ridership is down ergo we should raise prices." Which they are surprised to find drives ridership down further. "No one could have anticipated this!"
Unfortunatley we're in a crunch here since gas prices (thanks to evil collusion) are at their highest in Northern California and they also want to raise bridge tolls to finance the new bridge. You're pretty well fucked for choices.
Thanks guys, I'll check around next time I'm down there.
Was anyone else watching The Next Food Network Star?

Amtrak has been doing this for years. It's insane -- if it's faster and cheaper to fly from NYC to DC, no wonder people aren't taking the train!

I was! By the end, I wanted Hans to win. Ah well. And now I'm watching this show about the cake maker, and the opening monolog thing was completely nonsensical. I couldn't figure out the timeline AT ALL. Did it used to be an hour show that got edited down? That was the only thing I could think of.
I was rooting for Hans too, but I was happy to see D&S get it instead. Mainly, I was just happy that Deborah didn't win. How can you not know how long to cook a pork chop? And what the hell is up with putting a SECRET spice blend into a television recipe? So annoying. I do wonder what "stars" she cooks for.
Yum. Inspired by something Robin posted a while back, I bought whipped cream and angel food cake (I couldn't find short cakes) to go with the berries (a basket each of raspberries, blackberries and strawberries) I bought at the Farmer's Market this morning.
So very good. I am tempted to go have some more fruit and whipped cream.
