Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

YAY Elopement! Was anyone else there or was it just the 2 of you?

We had to bring witnesses, so we dragged along Thing One and Thing Two (aka, my oldest local friend and S's old roommate, who could pass for twins in spite of not having met before yesterday).

When is your big part-ay? Am I crazy or were you planning a wedding before, or was that just planning the par-tay?

You remember right - we were planning a wedding, until we realized along the way that while it was important to us to have a shindig to celebrate with family and friends, the ceremonial bits of it (and associated insane social pressures) were giving us hives. For us, at least, it just wasn't worth that (and as you can see from the noogie pic, we're not exactly the formality and high seriousness type anyway.)

I got no receipt, but I think 19 years has already voided hte warrenty, so I'm stuck with him.

Did you remove the stickers? You weren't supposed to remove the stickers.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You weren't supposed to remove the stickers.

Under penalty of law!

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Right on! I love the noogie picture.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

DO NOT REMOVE UNDER PENALTY OF LAW!.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

connie, I think your DH has the extended warranty. But you're still stuck with him.

We're the opposite. The ceremony will be fine; it's the par-tay that's giving me nightmares. Good on you for doing it your way!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I love the elope-now-party-later approach to weddings.

Including the one that said he'd been refurbished and to remove before use? Damn.

I think your DH has the extended warranty. But you're still stuck with him.

The extended warranty probably doesn't cover the extensive after-market conversions he's undergone, either.

"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be."

Did you remove the stickers? You weren't supposed to remove the stickers.

To preserve future ebay value, you should really keep spouses in their original packaging. Of course, then you can't play with them...
