I've usually gotten the security deposit back when moving out of a rental, but I don't think I've ever gotten interest. Hmmmm. After 6 years in my current place, I imagine that could buy me a soda or suchlike.

I've had a stick-shift car since 1992. They're nice when driving in the mountains. But switching to an automatic transmission's not fun. I've attempted to hit the clutch and ended up stomping on the brake by mistake.

I think more than anything, for me it makes me more aware of all the dumbfucks who are rolling up 2 inches. And then another two inches. And then again. Every 20 seconds or so. WHICH ANNOYS ME. Come to a stop at a reasonable distance and stay there. Don't do this slow rolling shit that requires me to pay attention.

They rank up there with the standards on a slight incline who instead of using the brake, play the clutch, rolling back and forth incrementally. USE THE BRAKE.

Sophia, what city do you live in again? It'll take me just a couple of minutes to check your city's landlord-tenant rights and responsibilities/rent board/whatnot. Because if you can tack on a couple of "City Ordinance # blah-blah-numbercakes states that..." and "According to local statute # yadda-yadda-digitcakes..." it helps.

I got soundly ignored by my ex-landlords when I moved out of Berkeley and in with Hec, and sent them a letter including a couple of local ordinance #s and print-outs of the city's webpages for the ordinances, and cc'ing the Berkeley Rent Board and a family friend who happened to be a lawyer (something totally unrelated to landlord-tenant disputes, but my ex-landlords had no way of knowing that), and within a week I got my full deposit back plus interest.

I normally drive an automatic, but I'm driving a stick today. I have a lot less leeway in how close I have to get the seat to steering wheel in order to put the clutch in. Almost got a cramp in my left calf before I figured that out. But I learned to drive on a standard and the reflexes have never quite gone away.

I need some help. I'm planning an event thing for work in September. There will be appx 30 people (looking at last years attendance) and the theme is "Teamwork" (my idea). I need some games. The only thing I've come up with is splitting people into small groups and having them figure out how many words they can make from TEAMWORK in X amount of time. I realize I'm going to hve to figure out how many words I can make --but hey! I have until september.

There needs to be at least one more relatively simple game and I can't think of anything.

They can name their team (the crazier the better) and come up with a pitch to sell their concept to the other team.
