What Kat said. I still don't know what I'm actually teaching when I start at the new school. I don't start until August, though, so I have a little more time. I can't imagine how stressful it would be to have to start teaching in a couple of weeks and still not know my preparations. Eesh.

ION, my students are whining that their exam is "tooooo harrrrd!" Muwahahhahahaha.
(FTR? Not too hard.)

Also, the fact that my current teaching gig ends on 6/30 and my new one starts on 7/5. It's a little bit of stress.
Eek, that's quick, Kat.
Yeah. well, glories of year round schooling. I should look for a school on a traditional calendar.
But am lazy.
Well yes, but you get cool chunks of time off during times that vacations are not absurdly expensive, too!
Hmmph. The classes I assist in are having either exams or exam prep today and this may be my last day to see them -- except I'm not, because the teacher never emailed me to tell me when to show up.
Mind you, it let me get nearly a full night's sleep, but still. I'm sad.
Yeah, the odd vacation times are the best. Of course this year, I don't know when those will be yet becuase they haven't even clarified which track I am on. I'm hoping C becuase you get out so early. But B-track would mean that I could go to Yosemite in September.
Anyhow, back to the doctor's office today.
Based on the thingies they make for us, what must the Chinese think of American culture? I'm looking at my desk toys. There's a wind-up bobble-head Nosferatu, a ghost finger-puppet, and a miniature skateboard. As the diligent workers were painting the Nosferatu's fangs red and his tongue blue (why blue?), were they zoned out in their own heads or did the occasional thought go by as to "Who in the world would buy this? What are they thinking?"
The Onion addresses that very issue this week -- Chinese Factory Worker Can't Believe The Shit He Makes For Americans
