I saw it because I was in the mood for tv. And it's kinda fun. Of course, due to me being popuncultured, I heard most of this music in college at 80s things. Except, Sophie B. Hawkins. My brother was in LOVE with Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover. Heard that one a lot. And Wang Chung reminds me of dancing around on Suzanne's brothers' water beds at slumber parties. I had SUCH a crush on Cruz, the eldest of the twins. He was probably 16 at the time and cute. They seemed so much older. Funnee.
Suzanne is a nurse now. I haven't talked to her since we were 13 or so, but our moms run into each other.
msbelle, glad you had a good day!
Yeah, it feels more like a talent show. They don't have winners, do they?
Well, the "winner" gets money donated to the charity of their choice. But all in all, it is more fun just to see them.
I'm possibly still bitter over Vanilla Ice's bullshit win last time.
Juliana, I don't know why, but Ewan + singing always gives me a huge disconnect.
msbelle!
Also, I told my students today that I was leaving at the end of the school year.
Customs officials asked if he had anything to declare. Just a brain in the trunk, he told them.
A friend of ours who was in med school once showed us her brain--the one she was dissecting for Neuroanatomy class. It was in her trunk. The car was in the parking lot at a Taco Bell in Muncie, IN.
Ooh, how'd that go, Kat?
I am now reminded of my 5th grade teacher telling us she had good news and bad news -- the good news was she was getting married, the bad news was it was to the principal. I swear to god that's how I remember it.
Also waiting to hear how it went, Kat.
I think tomorrow will be an equally good day. I am trying to choose between the following things:
return slip cover to Target
measure and start to install track lighting in livingroom
install new shelf in bathroom
sew
finish "God of Small Things" (although that may still happen tonight)
hang bedroom curtain holder
walk to Michael's to pick -up framing order
work in the flower-beds
repackage and mail box to Nilly
knit up swatches of Grandma's old yarn and try to felt them.
KAT!
