You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Yeah, the story said they were being abandoned all over the southwest, including in Arizona. I thought I'd read the story on MSNBC, but I can't find it today. I swear I was just reading it in the last day or two.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Here's the polygamy story: [link]

What is even happening?

Oh my word, how sad and awful.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

"If you have a son or daughter in your home, and their behavior got worse and worse and they defied you, wouldn't you want them to leave?"

Um... no? I mean, nice try, mister, I get that you're trying to say all these teenage boys were frightful delinquents who couldn't be helped, but you fail.

ETA: It's not that anything would make his take more convincing, but do they think no one's noticed that it's just the boys? Sad, sad, sad. And I'm creeped out by not just the sexism but the mathematical implications of needing three wives to enter the "highest level" of heaven.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And, dude, if your community is producing that many unsavable kids, maybe you're doing something wrong, somewhere.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Polygamy's much more workable when many of your young men are getting killed in wars.

Sad story. So much wrongness.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

So, um, we could make wars to send the young men off to so that the old men can get into heaven, bowm chikka bowm bowm?

Yeah. Wrod on the wrongness.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Well, they probably thought it would play better in Peoria than "If you have a son or daughter in your home, and their behavior got worse and worse and they defied you, and they'd finally sprouted boobs wouldn't you want them to marry one of your eighty-six uncles?"

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

You know, depending on the laws in AZ and UT, they can probably go after the fathers for child support.
