Good advice, Cindy. Overmedication is a huge problem with the elderly.
Other than that - you know, some of those assisted living places are pretty nice. Hell, I'm kind of looking forward to it. I'd recommend checking out a couple that you think she'd like and taking her there to see it. She might see that it's not as bad as she thinks, and maybe it would stick with her a little better than a conversation.

I'm looking forward to the fights over the DVD player.
Health~ma for your father, Matt.
Parenting~ma for Gandalfe.
How tall are you again, Kalshane? My doctor told me last year that 185 was my ideal weight loss goal (200 being the realistic one), and I'm 5'11". If I'm remembering correctly that you're at least 6'2", I can't imagine that applying to you as well.
I am 6'2". The chart in my doctor's office states that as a "large framed" person, I should weigh 185, which seems rather absurd.
And after some quick googling, this site agrees with me. [link] and then links to this page [link] which has a bunch of different results, ranging from 181 (yikes!) to 202lbs. People of my height and build apparently agree with me, thinking 220lbs is ideal.

Oh, I'll take those old folks down.

Ok, that right there? Is insane.
Large plane crashes in Ft. Lauderdale -
Crap.... off to watch news.
One detail - the "large plane" was a DC-3, which is not large by modern airliner standards....

I've got to say, I know what 185 looks like on my 5' 9" medium frame, and stretching it out that much more doesn't seem like a great idea.
