Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What Consuela said. Plus right now? Hurricane season.

Please. I get jealous of New Orleans. I like it sticky and wet. Hell, I'm from Jamaica, which gets hurricanes and earthquakes. I miss that weather too.

However, if I need to compromise, my abject fear of winter and my actually quite liking LA mean it's a very first world whine.

I just got reminded that I'm scary. I need to remember that when I'm whimpering about my bad test performance.

Which reminds me -- I need to email that chick the hand-bruise her boyfriend gave me.

brillig

Here in Utah, we're still sleeping under blankets and closing windows against drafts. If/when summer really arrives like it normally does, it's going to be a hell of a systemic shock.

I survived cooking some food: sauted eggplant, zucchini & musroom with tomato/garlic sauce. The kitchen didn't get too hot.

Also made small batches of gazpacho and cucumber soup which will take me through most of the week.

fish, chicken, and shrimp are thawing. red beans are soaking.

That all sounds yummy, msbelle.

We have purchased every 10 gallon rubbermaid tub at Lowes and all but 3 are now full. Ugh. We have a lot of crap.

storage unit.

which is good. This is sort of like moving for lori, who has been in this house since many years before the millenium began. So while I moved and streamlined my shit, she hasn't. Stuff is getting thrown out, my books are getting weeded and then some and we are reorganizing everyting, including the back bedroom which we are trying to make into a summer room because it's way cooler than our bedroom.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

we have moved the TV and DVD player in the bedroom and watched The "Restless" commentary, and then "Primeval" for fighty fighty fight fight scenes.

Now, Newsradio and a savory pie dinner, courtesy of Petsie Pie. We are having Spinach Ricotta Pie and a Potato Mushroom Tart. Mmm, pie.

getting a storage unit, in most sense, feels like we are giving up. Like we are never working towards simplifying. We are merely caving into the too much shit we already have.

At least economists tell me that I am not alone; self-storage is a rapidly growing sector of the economy.

Nora, that sounds awesome. I'm becoming a cheerleader for savory pies.
