Same answer. We never took one. Combine too many kids, too little dough, and my father's flight schedule, and all we ever did was day trips, either to the Jersey shore or one of the lakes in NW NJ. Which was fine.

Favortie/worst family vacations: we went to North Truro, Cape Cod, MA every summer, so I have little distinction between them. They were all pretty nice. I can't really recall a disaster vacation or anything. Well, there was the vacation that both my parents quit smoking. That kind of was a a sucky vacation. Way to ruin it for the rest of us, guys!

The local DJs are mostly happy-perky, crude, or have forgotten their job is to play music and be entertaining instead of making political commentary. Play the song, dude, don't give me a five minute rant on what you'd like to do to people who oppose the mess in Iraq.

your best? We drove to Red Lake, Ontario, and then took a floatplane to a cabin in the middle of nowhere. There were literally no other humans within 80 miles of us, except for the floatplane pilot who brought us gasoline and fresh milk in the middle of the week. I caught a few humongous fish, but I mostly remember the peace and quiet. Loons rock!

Mmm. Yes. A nice big wedge of lime, squeezed, not just a little twist that decorates the glass without really flavoring anything.

I can't think of any that were really horrible.
your best?
Any of the times when I was a little kid and we went to Maine. We'd rent a house for a month, and my mom and my sister and I would stay there the full month, while my dad came up on weekends and for the last week. I was able to ride my bike wherever -- I felt so grown up when my mom would ask me to ride to the general store to pick up something -- and we had tennis lessons and dances and stuff at the community house, and swimming lessons at the beach, and we were pretty much free to run around barefoot with almost no schedule for the whole month. It was great.

worst summer vacay: Dad decided to drive from Phoenix to El Paso in like a week. WAY too much time spent in the car, even if it was an opportunity to teach me to drive. Plus, he always carries, so we accidentally drove into Mexico with a gun in the car, which is practically a hanging offense.
best: Prolly the one where we went to California and visited Magic Mountain two days in a row and the beach and Disneyland. Super fun.
Pools are too common. Beaches rule, even if the Pacific is freezing.
